Crescent Model
This piece has been a great test piece.
It is black anodized aluminum on one side. I had spray painted the other side and that didn't hold up at all in the weather. So I sanded the paint down and stopped when the aluminum showed through again. I liked the slightly uneven, spotted look with a sanded texture.
I hung it back outside and it has been in the last heavy storms. It moves a lot, the elements touch each other, but the material doesn't scratch.
I can see that 2 of the stainless steel connector rings start to open slightly. That is amazing after so much wind. If the piece stays so exposed to the elements the only requirement would be to close the stainless steel rings periodically.
